Memorial Day and “Cars”
Monday, May 29th, 2006For the past half hour, I’ve been watching Jay create a new layout for our blog. Finally, I decided that I might as well get something accomplished until he’s done, and I thought it might be an excellent time for a brief update.
Jay and I have had a very productive, but very qiet Memorial Day weekend. We have stayed mostly at home and worked on our individual projects. He worked on his project for school and his art webpage, and I cleaned house, did laundry, slept until I could sleep no more, and experimented with cooking new things (which is always fun, but not always edible). I am happy to report that last night’s attempt at salmon was very successful. We’ll will see how tonight’s venture with shrimp and pasta turns out. I’ll be sure to let you know.
One highlight of our weekend was Saturday night, when a friend of ours who works at Pixar invited us to a family & friends screening of “Cars” at Pixar Animation Studios. Let me just say, Pixar has impressed yet again! Although I must admit that it is not my favorite Pixar film, I continue to be amazed at how real they can make an animated movie feel! It is amazing. With every film they push the boundaries of what they can do. And this wasn’t even my favorite animation style. But the story, especially the ending, was great, and you can always count on Pixar to make a wonderful family film with great laughs for everyone without the need for cheap potty humor. I would highly recommend it for anyone and everyone, so go see it on June 9th!
