The Epperharts

The Brewers

David and Patricia Epperhart are, you guessed it, Jay’s parents. They live in Arkadelphia, AR, where David is the head of Computer Services at Henderson State University. Patricia is a Spanish teacher at the local high school, but is also the staff accompanist and organist at Christ of the Hills Methodist church in Hot Springs Village, in addition to having her own private piano studio. Both David and Patricia have eagerly welcomed Leigh Anne into their family, and are excited to have another reason to visit the San Francisco area.

Leah Epperhart is Jay's younger sister. She is a Senior Elementary Music Education major at Northwestern State University in Louisiana. She plays multiple instruments and at a younger age had a remarkable knack of getting on Jay's nerves.  Now she is an extremely helpful sister who does what she can to take some of the baby pressures off of Jay and Leigh Anne by visiting our Cali home. She is currently planning her own December wedding with her long time boyfriend Brad. She also has a loveable little mutt named Oscar who currently lives with the Epperharts and tends to destroy things.

These are my paternal grandparents Horace and Joyce Epperhart and their oldest son, my uncle Terry. They lived in Port Neches, TX but have now moved to Kilgore to be near my uncle Pat who resided over our wedding.  I have great memories of them coming to visit me in Texas when I was a little boy. They always brought me lots of gifts and let me buy Happy Meals at McDonalds!

This is my maternal grandmother, Shirley (Nanno) and her "new" husband, Bill New. They live in the San Francisco Bay Area  near where Leigh Anne and I live. We enjoy spending weekends at her house and having her and Bill visit our humble abode in Pleasant Hill. We hope to have her over more often and want her to play a role in our children's lives.

This is my maternal grandfather, Wardell Copeland. He moved to Arkadelphia in 2002 and was a big fan of my music and watched me play in the band at Henderson during the football games. He grew ill and passed away 4 days before our wedding.  While we were devastated about this it did have a silver lining as all of the relatives who were in town for our wedding were able to attend his funeral.  We will all miss his big smile and energetic spirit.
