On July 8th, our little Raeleigh was born right on time!  Check out new pictures of her in the photo album and don't forget the movies too!!

   Although we did not plan on having Raeleigh quite so soon (we thought that we would at least get a dog first), we can barely contain our excitement over her impending arrival. We have her room ready and waiting, and our schedule is full of all things baby as we try to prepare ourselves in these final weeks.

    It seems inevitable that our first child would be Raeleigh. After all, Leigh Anne has had the name picked out since she was 17! Long before she knew her last name would be “Epperhart.” Once, before we were married we had one of those “future” conversations where we discussed what our children’s names would be. The only name that we settled on was “Raeleigh Anne.” We both liked the full name, we both liked the nickname “Rae”, and it went well with “Epperhart.” And once Jay discovered that her initials would also spell her nickname—R.A.E.—he was sold and we haven’t discussed another name since.  It wasn’t until we found out that we were pregnant that we came up with a boy’s name…just in case. Leigh Anne, however, claims to have always known that we were having a girl, marking it down to her “mother’s intuition.” Logically, that’s just silly. But intuition or not, we are expecting a girl, and we cannot wait to welcome our little Rae of Sunshine into our lives.
