About Jay About Leigh Anne Well, things are just a little different now than they were the last time I created an “about me” profile. It’s funny how things don’t seem to go as smoothly as you planned, but when you look back, you realize that what actually happened was even better than anything you could imagine. Jay and I were married in June, and we moved to the Bay Area in August. In October, I found out that—Surprise!—I was pregnant. This was a total shock, and I cannot say that I wasn’t apprehensive about what we were going to do. I knew that we would make it and that everything would turn out all right, but my senses were in such a shock that it took a long time for things to settle down and my worries to subside. After all, every plan that we had made was now pretty much out the window, and it was time to formulate a whole knew life plan. And on such short notice, that can be a little intimidating. But as I said, everything worked out. We both had decent jobs, and Jay’s job has proven to be one that will take care of us as we continue to grow our family. So I continued with my job at the dental office until April, when I began to work from home for my dad’s office. And yes, his office in still in Arkansas. Isn’t technology wonderful? There is no part of my life that is not better because I am working from home. I know that I would not be at all ready for Raeleigh’s birth if I was still going to an office to work. And what is so wonderful is that it has worked out beautifully for my dad’s office, too. It is a win-win situation, and we are all very happy about it. And that is my life in a nutshell at the moment. I had been planning on going back to school this coming fall, but that is on hold until further notice. I will finish my degree at some point; no one needs to worry about that. But I think that this hiatus has been excellent for me. Now when I go back, it will be because I truly want to finish my degree, and not because it was the next step after high school and I didn’t have anything better to do. Sometimes a little life is the best motivation for a higher education. But that is still all in good time. Until then, I will continue to work full time for Dad, take care of my husband, and love on my precious baby. |
