Questions and
Answers with Leigh Anne
Q: Where did you first meet?
A: I knocked on his door and asked his roommate if he had any
chicken. Jay was sitting upside-down in a chair and said, “Oh, is
this Shannon?” A few days later, the actual Shannon asked me who
“this Jay-person” was. To which I replied, “He’s Paul’s roommate.
You know, the cute one.” (no offense to Marcus or David).
Q: How did he charm you into
going out with him?
A: It was more of a stalker-situation. His best friend lived
opposite me. Jay would stand outside of James’s door waiting for me
to come out of my room. I knew that he liked me when pictures of me
were suddenly up all over his website, Reddie Rants, and he titled
one of his journal entries “Hazel-Eyed Treats.” That journal entry
didn’t say anything about me, but I knew that he meant me, and Jay
confirmed it. Basically, he was just really persistent, and very
sweet. He drew me a picture, he wrote me letters and a poem, and he
sent me flowers. You know, the usual
please-oh-please-won’t-you-go-out-with-me stuff. I finally agreed to
go out with him after he told me that he wanted to marry me. I knew
he wasn’t playing games then.
Q: Where was your first
date?
A: A trip to Capitol City (Little Rock). It was lunch at
Schlotzky’s, Lost in Translation at the Rave, and dinner at the Park
Plaza mall food court. (Chinese food!)
Q. Who said “I love you”
first?
A: He did, exactly one week after our first date. I, of course,
responded in kind.
Q: How soon were you
engaged?
A: Officially, Friday, March 26th, 2004, 5 months
after our first date. Unofficially, two weeks after our first date.
I asked him where we were headed, and he told me he wasn’t going to
California without me.
Q. Where did he propose?
A. On the Bridge of Angels in Rome, Italy.
Q: Where are you going on
your honeymoon?
A: Paris, France
Q: Where do you plan to live
after you are married?
A: For the first couple of weeks, we’ll live in an attic
apartment at my parent’s house. After we first move to the Bay Area,
we’ll be living with Cynthia Pierce, a great friend of the family
for a few weeks until we can find a place of our own. Or until she
boots us out. J
